Warabi mochi là một dạng bánh mochi của Nhật được làm từ bột năng hoặc một loại thạch có tên là Warani Mochiko chỉ có ở xứ sở hoa anh đào. Món ngon dễ làm này có vị ngọt thanh mát, dẻo trong rất đẹp mắt. Bánh được ăn kèm cùng syrup để tăng thêm hương vị cho món ăn. Rây 60g bột năng (warabimochiko) vào một bát trộn vừa. Đổ 240ml nước ấm từng chút một và trộn đều cho đến khi hỗn hợp mịn, không bị vón cục. Thêm 50g đường vàng (đường mía) vào, khuấy đều cho đường tan. Hỗn hợp sẽ loãng. Rây bột đậu nành (kinako) phủ đều tấm nướng silicon.

Cho hỗn hợp làm bánh mochi vào nồi. Đặt nồi lên bếp với lửa vừa, vừa nấu vừa khuấy đến khi thành hỗn hợp bột dẻo quánh, mềm mượt khoảng 10 phút và có màu đục trong là được.

Chế bột ra khay đã rắc sẵn một lớp mỏng bột đậu nành, sau đó rắc thêm một lớp bột đậu nành lên nữa rồi nhào cho bột đậu nành bám đều khối bột. Nặn thành khối vuông vức rồi cắt thành miếng vuông vừa ăn là xong.
